Military Photos Transparency Tutorial

How to apply transparency to a photo in PowerPoint
All photos in the Military Photos Collection come both in JPG and Photoshop formats. The images in Photosop format have a masking layer removing the background and giving you the option of recuperating the clipping path.

For PowerPoint we will use the JPG format.

  • Place an image into your presentation, using "Insert --> Picture --> From File...". Use the low-res CD.
  • The placed image (JPG) will have a white bounding box, that you want to get rid of.
  • With your image selected, use the "Set Transparent Color" tool from the "Picture" floating toolbar, and click over the white background of your image.
  • PowerPoint will make that white color transparent.
  • You can eliminate any white lines with the "Less Contrast" tool.
  • That is all, enjoy.
